Pushpaa 2 Release Postponed: New Date Announced
The much-anticipated Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer “Pushpaa 2,” directed by Sukumar, has seen a change in its release schedule. Initially set for an August release, the film will now hit theaters later in the year.
Allu Arjun, a prominent figure in the Telugu film industry, gained nationwide acclaim with the release of “Pushpaa” in 2021. The film, which featured Rashmika Mandanna opposite Allu Arjun and included a special dance number by Samantha, became a pan-India blockbuster, grossing over Rs 350 crore.
In the wake of “Pushpaa’s” success, the sequel has been highly anticipated. “Pushpaa 2” continues the narrative with Bhagat Basil portraying the antagonist, focusing on the theme of sheep smuggling. The music for the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, and it is being produced by Maitree Movie Makers, promising a production scale much larger than the first installment.
Although the shooting for “Pushpaa 2” is nearly complete, post-production delays have prompted the filmmakers to reschedule the release. Originally slated for August 15, the release has been postponed due to these delays.
Competing releases from other major stars—Vijay’s “Goat” in September, Rajinikanth’s “Vettaiyan” in October, and Ajith’s “Vidaa Muyarchi” in November—have influenced the decision to delay “Pushpaa 2.” The film is now set for a worldwide release on December 6. Interestingly, this aligns with the release of the first part, which also premiered in December 2021.
Fans can now mark their calendars for December 6 to witness the continuation of the “Pushpaa” saga.
